The telenovela, Kina depicts different family dynamics and interactions. The most recent one surprised and shocked the fans: Angelina sued Lefti for refusing to support his child, Zing financially and wanting to claim full custody of their child even though he was an absent father.  

When parents' divorce or separate, it is of the utmost importance to include a custody arrangement to protect the children involved.  These decisions can be made either by the parents or a court, which may grant sole or shared custody.  

In the case of Angelina and Lefti, Zing has lived with his mother at his grandmother’s house since he was born. Angelina wanted to settle down with another man, but he was not willing to be responsible for Zing as well. So, Angelina decided to ask Lefti to contribute towards the child’s well-being or stay with the child. They were unable to reach an agreement and decided to pursue legal action.  

In custody cases, it is crucial for the parents to prioritise the child’s best interest. They should consider the following when making decisions:  

• The child’s relationship with each parent. 

• The parents' ability to care for the child. 

• The child’s own preference if they are old enough to express themselves. 

When parents cannot come to an agreement on these factors, seeking legal counsel is advisable to avoid further complications. This is the route Angelina and Lefti have chosen to take. The question remains
