  1. Describe Joe in one sentence

I am an actor using film to explore the grind, grit, and glory of life.

  1. When did you know acting was the thing for you?

It really clicked back in third grade. My teacher asked me to perform a skit at school, and guess what? It was a hit! Everyone loved it, and my teacher was so impressed that he encouraged me to chase this dream. That’s when I knew I was meant for this.

  1. How did those close to you react the first time they saw you on screen?

They were so proud—not just because they saw me on screen, but because they knew the hustle, the grind, and everything it took to get there. Honestly, that moment meant so much more to them than I ever expected. It was like all the late nights and sacrifices finally paid off, and they felt it too.

  1. What is one fact about you that many fans don’t know?

Here is something many people don’t know—before I got into acting, I was hustling hard in Gikomba, selling hoodies. It was all about grinding and making things happen, one hustle at a time. Those streets taught me resilience, and honestly, it’s a chapter of my life I’m super proud of.

  1. What makes you love acting?

Acting is the only hustle where pain, joy, and grind all come together to create art. It’s raw, it’s real, and honestly, it’s like therapy—but louder and way more powerful.

  1. How challenging was your character playing on Shanga?

The language barrier especially the Maasai accent was a bit challenging, but I later tackled it.

  1. How did you prepare for the role?

I tore that script apart—broke it down scene by scene, studied the character’s background, and practised every emotional beat until it hit just right. I made sure every gesture felt real, not like I was acting. Then I went even deeper. I got into the character’s head—their fears, their ambitions, even their silences, and asked myself how I’d survive if I were in their shoes.

  1. What excites your character and how do you relate to it?

The intense scenes are challenging, and the fictional ones push me even further. But what stood out most was diving deep into the Maasai culture—I learned so much, and it made the experience unforgettable.

  1. What have you learned about yourself with this challenging role?

That I can go beyond limits.

  1. Describe one unforgettable moment on set.

Shooting my first scene on Shanga I had to give it my all to prove to myself and all the people on set that I owned the role.

  1. Coming from another tribe, how hard was it to act as a Maasai?

It was tough at first, but I am naturally curious and always eager to learn something new. Honestly, it was exciting to step out of my comfort zone and dive into a whole new culture—it felt like an adventure.

  1. Which local or international actor do you admire the most and why?

Will Smith and Michael B Jordan project an energy I connect with during their performances.

  1. If you were not acting, what would you be doing?

I am totally fascinated by cinematography—the way the camera moves, the rigging, the gimbals, everything! Those beautiful shots just blow me away. Honestly, if I weren’t acting, I’d love to be a cinematographer.

        14. What's next for you?

I am staying open. Whether it’s a film, series, or stage — if the story speaks to me, I’m there. I just want to keep growing in the craft.
